Garuda is a mythical creature that appears in both Hindu and Buddhist mythology. He has the body of a man but an eagle's beak and enormous wings. Garuda is a devourer of serpents and is sometimes ridden by the God Vishnu. Garuda is invoked as a symbol of impetuous violent force, of speed, and of martial prowess. This impressive Garuda mask was handcrafted by the skilled artisan of Nepal, Patan whose families have been crafting brass sculptures for centuries with the art being passed on by each generation. The handcrafted brass statues are amazing and have an incredible amount of detail which surpasses the quality of mass-produced statues.
